General Information

FIBLOOZ is primarily classified as a laxative used for the short-term relief of severe or chronic constipation. It works by softening the stool and promoting regular bowel movements to ease discomfort.

  • Key Ingredients: The formulation is typically a lactulose-based syrup that often includes added fibers and nutrients such as Wheat Dextrin, Polydextrose, Fructo-oligosaccharides, and Vitamin C.
  • Medical Uses:

    1. Constipation Relief: Increases the water content in stools to make them easier and more regular to pass.
    2. Hepatic Encephalopathy Management: Helps lower ammonia levels in the blood for patients with liver disease, which can improve brain function.
    3. Bowel Preparation: May be used to clean the bowel before certain medical procedures or surgeries.
  • Typical Administration: It is generally taken once daily, with or without food, often accompanied by a full glass of water. It usually takes 48 to 72 hours to show full effects.

Potential Side Effects

While usually well-tolerated, some people may experience:

  • Abdominal cramping or bloating.
  • Flatulence (gas).
  • Nausea or vomiting.
  • Diarrhea, particularly if taken in high doses.

Precautions

  • Verify Label: Always double-check the physical label of the product to confirm the specific ingredients and dosage instructions.
  • Contraindications: Avoid use if you have an intestinal blockage, severe undiagnosed abdominal pain, or a known allergy to its components.
  • Medical Guidance: Consult a doctor if constipation persists for more than one week, or if you experience severe abdominal pain, vomiting, or blood in your stools.
