Serta-100 Tablet is used in the treatment of depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder, panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Depression is a mood disorder associated with symptoms such as sadness, inability to sleep properly or enjoy life as you used to. OCD is a mental disorder with symptoms such as excessive thoughts or ideas (obsessions), leading to repetitive behaviours (compulsions). Panic disorder is linked to anxiety with sudden feelings of fear when there is no danger in reality.

Serta-100 Tablet contains Sertraline, which works by inhibiting the reabsorption of released serotonin back into the nerve cells. Thus, it increases serotonin activity (chemical messenger) in the brain that is involved in regulating mood, behaviour, and emotions.

Some people may experience drowsiness, dizziness, insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), dry mouth, nausea, headache, diarrhea, tiredness, or ejaculation failure. Most of these side effects of Serta-100 Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Take Serta-100 Tablet with or without food as prescribed by your doctor and swallow whole with a glass of water. Do not break, crush or chew it. Your doctor will advise you how often you take Serta-100 Tablet based on your medical condition.

If you are allergic to Serta-100 Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Serta-100 Tablet may be used only to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in children aged 6 to 17 years and not to treat any other conditions in children below 18 years of age. Serta-100 Tablet is not recommended for use during pregnancy, especially in the last 3 months. Do not take Serta-100 Tablet with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) such as moclobemide and methylene blue to treat depression and opioids, as it may cause severe adverse effects.

• Social anxiety: Serta-100 Tablet minimizes fear, nervousness, and avoidance in social interactions.
• Treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder: Serta-100 Tablet reduces unwanted repetitive thoughts and compulsive behaviors.
• Support in post-traumatic stress disorder: Serta-100 Tablet reduces symptoms like flashbacks, anxiety, and hyperarousal after trauma.
